STORY

The Datsun Bluebird 310 dates the nameplate to 1959. The third generation, the 510, was introduced in August 1967; it was the Datsun 510 in the US and the Datsun 1600 in most other markets, and a 1600SSS won the East African Safari Rally overall in 1970. The U14 generation arrived in 1996 and the Pulsar-based Bluebird Sylphy followed in 2000. Nissan's heritage list carries the Sylphy generations through 2012, the year Autocade says the Bluebird name finally disappeared.
