STORY
The Crew was a saloon designed for work rather than for private owners. Nissan put it on sale in July 1993, assembled at Nissan Shatai in Hiratsuka, using the front end of the C32 Laurel over floor and cabin structure taken from the Y31 Cedric. Taxi duty shaped the body: the driver's door and the rear left door, the one customers used, were each 50 mm longer than the doors opposite them and opened wider. The engines matched the job, a 2.0-litre NA20P four running on LPG and a 2.8-litre RD28 diesel six, and the 2.0-litre RB20E petrol six arrived with the Crew Saloon, the version for private sale added in January 1994. Police patrol cars followed in April 1994, took the six as well under force rules, driving schools took many of the others, and sales ran on until 2009.
