The Dayz is a kei tall wagon Nissan sells but has never built. Nissan and Mitsubishi set up NMKV as a 50/50 joint venture on June 1, 2011, and the Dayz that reached dealers on June 6, 2013 was the first car it planned, engineered by Mitsubishi and assembled at Mizushima in Kurashiki beside the twin eK Wagon. Nissan's launch release claimed 29.2 km/L on the JC08 cycle for four two-wheel-drive grades, which Nissan called the best in its class. On April 20, 2016 Mitsubishi admitted that the running resistance used in testing had inflated the results for four cars, the Dayz and Dayz Roox and its own eK Wagon and eK Space, that the method departed from Japanese law and that the published figures were overstated. The second generation went into production on March 14, 2019 and on sale on March 28, designed by Nissan this time, with a new engine and the ProPILOT assistance Nissan called the first in the kei class.
