GT-R (2012)

R35 · 2007–2017AWD

The GT-R (2012) is an R35.1 coupe with a 3.8-litre VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 producing 550 PS and 632 Nm. A 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends it to all four wheels. This revision lifted output from 530 PS and gave the engine sodium-filled exhaust valves to lower combustion chamber temperatures, along with a freer-flowing exhaust and a remapped ECU.

STORY

The R35 Nissan GT-R launched in 2007 as a standalone flagship, no longer a Skyline variant, powered by a hand-built twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 and an advanced ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system with a dual-clutch transaxle. Its supercar performance at a relatively accessible price earned it the nickname 'Godzilla' and repeated record runs at the Nurburgring. A major 2016 facelift (for the 2017 model year) refreshed the styling and raised output. Production of the long-lived R35 concluded in 2025.
