The 2017 GT-R is an R35.2 coupe with a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 making 570 PS and 633 Nm, driving all four wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. For this update Nissan raised the redline from 7,000 to 7,100 rpm and fitted a titanium exhaust. It also stiffened the body, with torsional rigidity up 5 percent over the earlier car.

STORY

The R35 Nissan GT-R launched in 2007 as a standalone flagship, no longer a Skyline variant, powered by a hand-built twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 and an advanced ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system with a dual-clutch transaxle. Its supercar performance at a relatively accessible price earned it the nickname 'Godzilla' and repeated record runs at the Nurburgring. A major 2016 facelift (for the 2017 model year) refreshed the styling and raised output. Production of the long-lived R35 concluded in 2025.
