STORY
The Interstar is a Renault Master wearing Nissan badges, built for Europe. Nissan put it on sale in Britain in April 2002 from 13,225 pounds before VAT, taking the Master that SOVAB built at Batilly beside the Opel and Vauxhall Movano, in three lengths and three roof heights with a nine-seat Combi beside the panel van. Three dCi diesels opened the range, a 1.9 of 80 hp, a 2.2 of 90 and a 2.5 of 115; the 2003 facelift brought a 100 hp 2.5 and an update of October 2006 a 120 hp, and the 3.0-litre option, Nissan's own ZD30, left at the 2006 restyle. That first Interstar, the X70, ended with the second-generation Master in 2010, and Nissan's share of the X62 that followed wore the NV400 badge from 2011. The name returned on September 27, 2021 on the same X62 with 2.3-litre diesels from 110 to 180 hp, and the next generation, with a battery-electric Interstar-e, followed on February 7, 2024.
