STORY
Aichi Machine Industry built every Largo, and Nissan only sold it. Nissan announced the series on 16 September 1982 as a step above the C120 Vanette, 90 mm wider across the body, and three dealer chains each got their own badge: Datsun, Sunny and Cherry Vanette Largo, distinguished in detail down to their headlamp bezels. A second Vanette Largo followed in May 1986, the three names were merged that November when four-wheel drive was added, and the Vanette prefix disappeared with the third car, announced on 21 May 1993, this one developed jointly with Aichi rather than merely built there. That one was a wide-bodied sister to the Serena C23, sharing its floorpan and its layout of the engine under the front seats driving the rear wheels, with a 145 PS KA24DE 2.4 and a CD20Ti turbodiesel. Autech's Highway Star aero version arrived in August 1995 and production ended in 1999.
