STORY
Livina was a name for emerging markets, and more than one car wore it. The series was designed at the Nissan Technical Center in Atsugi and went on sale first in China in November 2006, where Dongfeng Nissan called the long three-row version Livina Geniss; the same car was the Grand Livina elsewhere, a seven-seat MPV that reached Indonesia in April 2007 and Taiwan that October. A shorter two-row hatchback, plain Livina, followed in China in April 2007, and a derivative with plastic cladding arrived in April 2008 as the Livina C-Gear in China and the X-Gear elsewhere, which gave Nissan three variants under one name. Assembly ran in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam and the Philippines. The second Livina, launched in Indonesia on 19 February 2019, was a different car: a restyled Mitsubishi Xpander built by Mitsubishi at its plant in Bekasi.
