STORY
Lucino was the name Nissan put on the two-door Sunny, and then on a rebadged Pulsar as well. The coupe came first, announced on 24 May 1994 as an addition to the Sunny series: its own notchback body on the B14 saloon's floorpan and 2,535 mm wheelbase, with a 1.5 GA15DE or a 1.8 SR18DE. In January 1995 the Lucino Hatch joined it, a Pulsar Serie N15 three-door that differed in name, badges, grille, rear combination lamps and tailgate finisher rather than in sheet metal, and in May 1996 the five-door S-RV added plastic cladding for the recreational-vehicle boom. A 175 PS SR16VE with variable valve lift made the VZ-R from September 1997. All of it was sold through Nissan Sunny stores. North America took the coupe as the 200SX for the 1995 to 1998 model years, Mexico kept the Lucino name and built it in Cuernavaca, and the five-door ran until 2000.
