STORY
Launched in Japan in October 1982 as the March, the K10 reached Europe in 1983 as the Micra, and the two names ran in parallel for four generations. The Sunderland-built K11 of 1992 made Micra the first Japanese-badged winner of the European Car of the Year award, in 1993, and by the car's thirtieth anniversary in 2013 Nissan counted more than six million built. The K12 followed in 2002 and the globally sourced K13 in 2010. The fifth-generation K14, shown at the 2016 Paris show and on sale in Europe from early 2017, was assembled at Renault's Flins plant and never sold in Japan, where the K13 March ran on until home-market production stopped in August 2022. Nissan revealed an electric sixth generation on 21 May 2025 on a shared AmpR platform.
