STORY
Nissan called the Moco the model with which it entered the kei market, and Suzuki built it: an OEM car on the MR Wagon of 2001, though the bonnet, bumper and wing grille were Nissan's own. Sales opened across Japan on 10 April 2002 through both the Blue Stage and Red Stage chains, aiming at 4,000 cars a month at 1,003,000 to 1,362,000 yen before tax. The K6A triple came with variable valve timing or an intercooled turbo, on the first car always behind a four-speed column-shift automatic, and its main selling point was packaging: a cabin 1,785 mm long, a turning radius of 4.2 m. A second Moco followed on 1 February 2006 and a third on 15 February 2011, that one with the new R06A engine and 25.5 km/L on the 10-15 cycle for its naturally aspirated front-drive versions. Suzuki said on 30 November 2015 that it would stop building the MR Wagon, and Moco sales ended in May 2016.
