STORY

Navara was the name Nissan used in Australia and Europe for the one-tonne pickup that North America knew as the Frontier, South Africa as the NP300 Hardbody and other markets as NP300; continental Europe took the D22 simply as the Pick Up. The D22 of 1997 was the tenth generation of the line, and in Japan the same truck was still badged Datsun Truck: when home-market production stopped in August 2002, it closed sixty-seven years of the Datsun Truck line. The D40 followed for 2005, having been shown as the North American Frontier in Detroit in 2004, and was built in six countries. Nissan gave the D23 NP300 Navara its world premiere in Bangkok on 11 June 2014 and called it the twelfth generation of its pickup.
