North American market after the facelift. 145 hp at 5200 rpm and 156 ft lb at 4000 rpm (212 Nm) to SAE NET, per Datsun Canada brochure 99999-01505: 'Horsepower SAE Net 145 BHP/5200 RPM … Torque SAE Net 156 ft lb/4000 RPM'. The gain came from a compression ratio of 8.8 with the P79 head and flat-top pistons. These figures are not comparable with the Japanese 155 PS, which is quoted to JIS gross.

STORY

The 280ZX (S130) arrived in 1978 as a more refined, grand-touring evolution of the Z line, trading raw sportiness for comfort and luxury features. It offered 2.8-litre inline-six power, and a turbocharged version joined the range in 1981. Despite criticism that it had grown softer, it sold strongly, particularly in the United States.
