North American market, 1982 and 1983 model years, after the body facelift. The L28ET was the first turbocharged engine in a production car sold by Nissan in the United States: 180 hp to SAE NET and 203 ft lb (274 Nm). The 2.8-litre turbo never passed Japanese type approval, so in Japan the turbo version was a two-litre L20ET rated 145 PS to JIS gross, on sale from October 1982.
