STORY

Nissan announced the Terra on 26 February 2018 and called it the first frame-based SUV launched under its M.O.V.E. to 2022 plan, and the ladder-frame SUV went on sale in China on 12 April that year, launched at Xi'an and sold through both Dongfeng Nissan and Zhengzhou Nissan dealers with a 180 hp QR25 petrol four, 225 mm of ground clearance and five seats. South East Asia got a seven-seat version of its own, built at the Thai plant alongside the D23 Navara whose frame it borrows, with pre-orders in the Philippines from 28 May 2018 and a Thai launch on 16 August 2018 using the 190 hp 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel and a seven-speed automatic. The Middle East sells the same SUV under another name, the X-Terra, unveiled in Dubai on 25 November 2020 and in showrooms from that December.
