STORY

The line began in 1951 as the 4W60 and took the Patrol name in 1958, a four-wheel-drive Nissan with a 3.7-litre straight-six and a four-speed manual gearbox. The model Australia knew as the MQ arrived in 1980, and the GQ, the Y60, followed in 1987. The Y61, sold in Australia as the GU, came in 1997 with a 4.5-litre petrol six and a 2.8-litre turbodiesel, and in 2000 it gained the 3.0-litre ZD30 turbodiesel. The Y62 uses a 5.6-litre V8 with 560 Nm of torque.
