The Pixo was not a Nissan design. Nissan unveiled it at the Paris show on 2 October 2008 as a five-door four-seater built with Suzuki in India, sharing its body with the Suzuki Alto: 3,565 mm long on a 2,360 mm wheelbase, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder, and the four-speed automatic option that was unusual in the class. European selling opened in spring 2009, the first Dutch registrations dated 1 April, and Nissan stopped building it in October 2013, selling off the order book. The badge returned on 23 September 2026 on an unrelated car, a battery-electric city car designed by Nissan, developed with Renault and assembled at Renault's Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia, with a 27.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery and up to 259 km of WLTP range, which Nissan called a return to Europe's A-segment, with customer deliveries scheduled from early 2027.
Suzuki Alto-based city car of 2009-2013 for Europe, built in India with the 1.0 three-cylinder.
