STORY
Nissan settled the Presage name on 15 June 1998 and put the car on sale on 23 June as a minivan cruiser through Blue Stage showrooms, with a 220 PS 3.0-litre V6, a 150 PS 2.4-litre four and a 150 PS 2.5-litre direct-injection turbodiesel, all on a column-shift four-speed automatic. From 4 November 1999 the Red Stage chain sold the same U30 floorpan under its own styling as the Bassara. The redesign Nissan announced on 26 June 2003 and sold from 24 July moved to the FF-L platform taken from the Teana, with QR25DE and VQ35DE engines, a third row that dropped into the floor at one touch and an optional curtain airbag system reaching that row which Nissan called a first in Japan; it served both dealer chains once the Bassara ended. The target for that second car was 5,000 a month; production stopped in July 2009 and selling that August.
