STORY

Nissan introduced the President on 21 October 1965 with a 4.0-litre V8, at the time the largest engine in a Japanese car. Toyota's Century followed two years later, in 1967. A new generation arrived in August 1973. The JHG50 of October 1990, the first full model change in 17 years, was built on the Infiniti Q45 and carried a 4.5-litre V8, and the 2003 President was closely based on the Cima. New-car sales of the President ended in 2010.
