STORY
The Pulsar was the centre of a Japanese family of near-twins. It arrived on May 29, 1978 as a front-drive two-box car for Nissan Cherry Store, and the same machine was sold from June 1980 as the Langley at Nissan Prince Store and from June 1982 as the Liberta Villa at Nissan Store. The N12 of April 27, 1982 added the EXA coupe, which Nissan called the first car of 1,000 to 1,500 cc with retractable headlamps, and a saloon followed on June 29. The N13 of May 7, 1986 took the 1986-1987 Japan Car of the Year together with the EXA, Langley and Liberta Villa, announced that December 23. The N14 of August 22, 1990 left the sister names behind, and the N15 of January 24, 1995 was the last Pulsar Nissan launched in Japan. The name came back in 2014 on a different car, a European hatchback engineered for Europe and built at Barcelona, first delivered on September 11.
