STORY
The Quest was Nissan's North American minivan, and for two generations a job shared with Ford. On April 14, 1992 Nissan said production had begun in the United States under a venture with Ford running since 1988, in which Nissan did the development and Ford mainly the building, each firm selling through its own network. Nissan called it the first car it had designed and developed in earnest in the United States, designed by Nissan Design International in San Diego and engineered at Farmington Hills in Michigan; it and the twin Mercury Villager came off Ford's line at Avon Lake in Ohio at 135,000 a year, of which Nissan planned to sell 50,000 in the United States and Canada. The 2004 car dropped Ford for Nissan's own FF-L platform and the Canton plant in Mississippi, and the fourth, shown at Los Angeles on November 17, 2010, was built in Japan at Nissan Shatai's Kyushu plant.
