STORY

The Rogue arrived for the 2008 model year as a compact crossover assembled by Nissan in Kyushu, Japan. The second generation, a 2014 model on the Renault-Nissan Common Module Family platform, moved assembly to the Smyrna plant in Tennessee. Nissan revealed the third generation on 15 June 2020 as a 2021 model, with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder rated at 181 hp, up from 170 hp. The 2026 Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, announced in November 2025, is what Nissan calls its first plug-in hybrid offering in the U.S., with a 20 kWh battery, 248 hp of system output and an estimated 38 miles of all-electric range.
