STORY

The GT-R name first appeared on the Skyline in February 1969 as the 2000GT-R, with the 1,989 cc S20 inline-six rated at 160 PS. Only 197 Kenmeri-generation GT-Rs were built before production of the S20 car stopped. The name came back with the R32 in August 1989, three months after that Skyline's launch, with the 2,568 cc twin-turbo RB26DETT, ATTESA E-TS four-wheel drive and a 280 PS rating. The R34 generation ended production in 2002. The racing GT-Rs (Group A, GT500) have their own entries; this one covers the road cars.
