STORY

The Skyline debuted in April 1957 as a sedan from the Prince Motor Company. In 1964 Prince fitted the 2.0-litre six-cylinder G7 from the Gloria for a run of 100 cars to qualify the Skyline GT for racing, and in 1969 the third-generation car became the first Skyline to wear the GT-R badge. The badge returned on the C110 in 1972 and 1973, then was absent until 1989, when the R32 GT-R returned with the RB26DETT engine. The later R35 GT-R no longer carries the Skyline name.
