STORY
Teana was the name Nissan used in Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan and India for the front-drive upper-middle sedan it put on sale on 3 February 2003, billed by the factory as a refined luxury sedan for grown-ups and offered with 2.3 and 3.5-litre VQ V6 engines. Elsewhere the badge changed: Hong Kong and Singapore took the J31 as the Cefiro, Australia and New Zealand took the J31 and J32 as the Maxima and the later L33 as the Altima, and Renault Samsung built it in Busan as the SM5 and SM7. The J32 followed on 2 June 2008. The L33, shown in China with Dongfeng on 26 February 2013, shared its body and even its chassis code with the North American Altima. Japanese sales ran out in July 2020, China had renamed the car Altima in December 2018, and Dongfeng Nissan brought the Teana name back at Guangzhou on 21 November 2025.
