STORY
One name, four different vehicles. Nissan launched the first Terrano in Japan on 22 August 1986 on the frame of the D21 Datsun Truck, and North America took the same 4x4 as the Pathfinder; the WD21 gave way at home to the R50 of September 1995 after 141,132 registrations, while Indonesian assembly carried on to December 2006. The R50 ran in Japan to August 2002 and lent its platform to the Terrano Regulus. Europe had a car of its own: Nissan Motor Iberica began building the Terrano II in Spain in February 1993, Ford sold it across Europe as the Maverick until 1999, Japan took that one as the Mistral, and from the 2002 Geneva show Nissan dropped the II in Europe, where it stayed on sale to 2006. The fourth shared nothing with any of them, a restyled Dacia Duster for India and Russia shown on 20 August 2013.
