STORY
Nissan made the Wingroad out of two older names, merging the Sunny California and the passenger AD Wagon into it on 23 May 1996 with the rear bodywork redesigned and the overhang stretched, while the commercial AD van carried on separately under its own name and its own model cycles. The same bodyshell had been going to Mazda as the Familia Wagon since before the renaming. The Y11 of 31 May 1999 brought a lean-burn QG15DE and a lean-burn 1.8Z, a newly developed Auto Control 4WD system that reached buyers on 21 June, and on the 2.0ZV the variable-lift SR20VE with a six-speed manual-mode CVT. The Y12 of 14 November 2005 moved onto the C11 Tiida floor with the HR15DE and MR18DE. Once the Stagea ended in June 2007 it was the only station wagon Nissan sold in Japan, and sales stopped in March 2018 after 22 years.
