The Antara began as the Antara GTC concept shown at Frankfurt in 2005. The production crossover went on sale in late 2006, built not in Europe but in South Korea, at the Bupyeong plant that also made the Chevrolet Captiva, whose basis it shared, and it was also assembled in Russia. Petrol engines at launch were a 2.4-litre four and a 3.2-litre V6, with a 2.0-litre diesel. In North America its relative was the Saturn Vue. Production ended in March 2015, and the Grandland of 2017 is a different car from the PSA era.
Opel's compact SUV built 2006-2015, sharing GM's Theta platform with the Chevrolet Captiva.
