The Insignia was Opel's flagship large family and executive car. It replaced the Vectra in 2008 and won European Car of the Year for 2009. It came as a saloon, a hatchback (Grand Sport) and a Sports Tourer estate. The performance flagships were the 325 PS V6 OPC (sold as the VXR in Britain) and later the GSi. The second generation arrived in 2017, and the model was discontinued in 2022 as Opel left the shrinking large-car segment.
