The Monza was Opel's large coupe, built on the Senator and Rekord underpinnings, and it reached buyers in 1978. The top engine was the 3.0-litre straight-six with Bosch electronic fuel injection, 132 kW (about 180 hp), which took the car from 0 to 100 km/h in about 8.5 seconds. In 1982 the Monza and Senator received a facelift with larger headlights and a more streamlined nose, known as the A2. The GSE followed in 1983 as the top version of the coupe, with digital instruments and Recaro seats. Production ended in 1986.
