STORY

The Sintra was Opel's minivan of the late 1990s and had a short life. It was unveiled in autumn 1996 and dropped in spring 1999, after about two and a half years. Opel offered petrol engines including a 2.2-litre four-cylinder rated at 104 kW (141 PS) and a 3.0-litre V6 at 148 kW (201 PS), plus a 2.2 DTI diesel. Euro NCAP tested the van in 1998 and gave it three stars, the last one crossed out, and later accounts blame that result together with poor build quality for the end of the model.
