STORY

The Kancil was Perodua's first model, launched in 1994 as a rebadged Daihatsu Mira (L200) kei car and named after the mouse-deer of Malaysian folklore. It was a tiny, cheap and economical city car with 660cc and later 850cc engines. It made car ownership affordable for millions of Malaysians and became a familiar sight on the country's roads. It stayed in production until 2009, when the Viva replaced it.
