STORY

Peugeot built 200 road-legal 205 Turbo 16 cars for Group B. Auction catalogues describe a rear-mounted 1.8-litre turbocharged four with about 200 hp for the road version, and RM Sotheby's gives 197 bhp from 1,775 cc. One of the road cars was delivered to Peugeot's Italian office for press use in the autumn of 1984. In competition the car took the drivers' and manufacturers' titles in 1985, and the auction listings still call it the car to beat in 1986.
