205 GTI 1.9

STORY

Peugeot launched the 205 in early 1983, and the GTI followed in March 1984 as a 1.6-litre car rated at 105 hp. A larger 1.9-litre GTI of 130 hp joined it later in the decade. When the 1.9 was given a catalytic converter its output fell from 130 PS to 122 PS, about 120 hp. The last 205 GTI was built in 1994, ten years after the first, and the sources differ by a few months: Automobile-sportive says January 1994, Supercarnostalgia April.
