STORY

Peugeot released the first pictures of the 301 in May 2012, a compact three-box sedan with a 4.44 m body and a 506-litre boot. The engines were a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol rated at 53 kW, a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel. The car was to be built at Vigo in Spain, and the Paris Motor Show was named as its public debut. Autocar India said the car would be marketed from 1 November 2012, with Turkey as the first market. It also suggested India as a later market in May 2012, but the car was never sold there. Other reports pointed at Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
