STORY

The 304 was presented in 1969 as a small sedan and grew into four body styles: sedan, coupé, cabriolet and station wagon, the coupé and cabriolet running only from 1970 to 1975 according to Autocade. The 305 arrived in 1977, but the estate carried on until 1980, when production ended at about 1.18 million cars; the auction house Aguttes gives 1,178,425 and Autocade 1,178,423. The two catalogues differ by two cars, so the safe reading is roughly 1.18 million over eleven years.
