STORY

The 305 appeared in 1977 as the 304's successor. The first series ran to 1982, with 1.3-litre (65 PS) and 1.5-litre (74 PS) petrol fours at launch and a diesel in the GRD, and Auto Bild reports a revised front end in 1982, while Autocade dates the facelifted cars to 1983. Over the whole run Auto Bild lists 60 to 102 PS for the petrol engines and 50 to 65 PS for the diesels. Auto Bild says production stopped in 1988 after 11 years, and Autocade gives 1989 as the end of the range, so the end falls in 1988 or 1989 depending on the source.
