STORY

The 307 went on sale in 2001 and was named European Car of the Year for 2002. The coupe-cabriolet version, with a retractable steel hardtop, arrived in 2003. The three-million mark fell by mid-2007, and the total later passed 3.5 million cars worldwide, counting plants outside Europe: Argentina kept building the car until 2011, while Europe said goodbye to the car at the end of 2008 and the 308 took over in sales in 2007.
