STORY

The Peugeot 405 was introduced in 1987 as a mid-size family saloon and estate. It won the 1988 European Car of the Year award and became one of Peugeot's best-selling models. Its Pininfarina styling, good handling and the powerful 405 Mi16 hot version made it a critical and commercial success. In motorsport, a rally-raid derivative, the 405 Turbo 16, won the Paris-Dakar Rally and set a Pikes Peak record with Ari Vatanen.
