STORY
Peugeot introduced the 406 saloon in September 1995 as the successor to the 405, with UK and Irish sales following in 1996. A two-door 406 Coupe, designed and built by Pininfarina, was shown at the 1996 Paris Motor Show and has its own page. The saloon line was replaced by the 407, which went on sale in the spring of 2004. Pininfarina had worked with Peugeot since 1951, and the first car of that partnership was the 403 of 1955.
