Peugeot showed the 407 Prologue coupe study at the Geneva show in March 2005, with a twin-turbo V6 diesel of 204 PS according to Auto Bild, and said series production was planned for autumn 2005. Unlike the 406 Coupe, built by Pininfarina in Italy, the 407 Coupe was made at Peugeot's Rennes plant alongside the saloon. One German catalogue dates the coupe from 2005 to 2011, and the saloon had gone on sale in 2004. The whole 407 range ran into 2011.
