STORY

The 407 saloon replaced the 406 and went on sale in the spring of 2004, built at Rennes. The range grew with an estate about five months later and a two-door coupe that Peugeot planned for autumn 2005. Engines started with a 1.6 diesel at 109 PS and AMS quotes up to 211 PS for the 3.0-litre petrol V6. The 407 line was succeeded in 2011. The coupe was also made at Rennes, rather than at Pininfarina in Turin as the 406 Coupe had been.
