STORY

Peugeot presented the 505 on 16 May 1979. The sedan ended at the end of 1991 and the Break at the end of 1992, with roughly 1.34 million cars built in France in all; the sources differ by about 14,000 cars, 1,337,700 against 1,351,254. Guangzhou Peugeot in China kept building it until 1997. A coupe and a cabriolet stayed prototypes. The sedans of 1979 to 1983 used a 2.0-litre four of 96 hp, and the Break estate followed in spring 1982.
