605 SRTD 2.5 Turbo Diesel

STORY

Peugeot launched the 605 in 1989 and built it until 1999, roughly 252,000 to 255,000 cars in total (Carjager 252,000, Caradisiac about 255,000, Motor1 254,461). The top version was the SV24, a 3.0-litre PRV V6 with 24 valves and 200 PS. The early cars had a poor reliability record, mostly electrical faults, and the reputation outlasted the cause: Caradisiac and Carjager both date the fixes to 1992, though Caradisiac says not every fault went away.
