Base 2.5

STORY

The Acclaim was Plymouth's mid-size sedan for the 1989 to 1995 model years, built on Chrysler's AA-body, and it shared that platform with the Dodge Spirit and the Chrysler LeBaron sedan. It took over from the Caravelle and the K-car based Reliant. The base engine was a 2.5-litre four rated at 100 hp. The LX carried a 141 hp Mitsubishi 3.0-litre V6 from 1989, and from 1990 the V6 was optional across the line. A turbocharged 2.5 with 150 hp was offered only in the early years and was dropped for 1991. The Breeze followed it in Plymouth showrooms for 1996.
