STORY

Plymouth's 1962 full-size cars were downsized, and the Belvedere of 1962 to 1964 rode on a 116-inch wheelbase. A race-only 426 Hemi appeared in a Belvedere in 1964. For 1965 the Belvedere became the mid-size line, with the Fury as the full-size Plymouth, and it was split into Belvedere I, Belvedere II and the top Satellite, at first offered only as a hardtop or convertible. The line was restyled for 1966, when the Satellite could be ordered with the Street Hemi, rated 425 hp at 5,000 rpm. The GTX arrived as a separate model in 1967.
