STORY

The Champ was Plymouth's name for the front-drive Mitsubishi Mirage in the U.S., used only for the 1979 to 1982 model years; Dodge sold the same car as the Colt. A 1.4 was the base engine, and the 1.6-litre 4G32 four came with the Twin Stick manual gearbox, which put a high-low range selector on the four-speed, giving eight forward and two reverse speeds. After 1982 Plymouth dropped the Champ name, and the car wore Colt badges from 1983 onward, as it had on the Dodge side from the start.
