STORY

The Prowler grew out of a 1993 Plymouth show car and reached production as a 1997 model and was built at Chrysler's Conner Avenue plant in Detroit. Its 3.5-liter V6 was rated at 214 hp at launch, and for 1999 a revised all-aluminum version raised that to 253 hp at 6,400 rpm. Plymouth was discontinued in 2001, after which the car was sold as the Chrysler Prowler. The last one was built on February 15, 2002, and 11,702 were produced in all, including 1,436 in 2002.
