Plymouth introduced the Volare, a twin of the Dodge Aspen on Chrysler's F platform, for the 1976 model year as the successor to the Valiant. Motor Trend named the Volare and Aspen its Car of the Year for 1976. The 225 cubic inch Slant Six was standard, with 318 and 360 V8s optional. Recalls, stalling and early rust then damaged the reputation of both cars. Production ran through the 1980 model year, and the front-wheel-drive Reliant replaced it for 1981.
Compact of 1976-1980 (Dodge Aspen twin) with the Road Runner package on the 360 V8.
