Polestar 2 BST edition 230

1st gen · 2023–2023AWDLiftbackLimited · 230

Second limited BST drop, announced 21 March 2023 and capped at 230 cars for Europe and North America. Polestar states 350 kW (476 hp) and 680 Nm; the figure is the metric rating, so it is recorded in PS. Chassis work carried over from the BST edition 270: ride height 25 mm lower (121 mm), Ohlins 2-way adjustable front dampers with external reservoir, Dual Flow Valve rear dampers, 20 percent stiffer springs, aluminium front strut bar, Brembo brakes, 21-inch forged wheels on 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero. New for this drop: Nebula green paint, a first on any Polestar, and MicroSuede upholstery in partly recycled Nubuck. Top speed 205 km/h is from the Polestar press release (https://media.polestar.com/releases/467?lang=en_US); the 78 kWh pack is the Long Range Dual Motor battery the car is built on - neither number appears on the model page itself. Kerb weight is not published by Polestar.

STORY

The Polestar 2 launched in 2019 as the brand's first fully electric, high-volume car and its most important model to date. Built on Volvo's CMA platform and sharing its silhouette with the Volvo XC40/C40, it was among the first cars to run Google's native Android Automotive operating system with built-in Google apps. Offered in single- and dual-motor forms, it positioned itself as a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3. A significant 2023 update switched the base car to rear-wheel drive and improved range and efficiency.
